About the Artwork
This artwork was created as a trio of ‘plant portraits’ for Museum of Brisbane’s ‘Rearranged’ Exhibition. The three chosen plants are Edith’s highlight species found in Toohey Forest
Edith has spent time researching, observing, and getting to know this Hakea species in the forest before hand illustrating it between the bush and her Annerley Studio. Toohey Forest is a precious bushland place surrounded by Brisbane suburbs on Turrbal and Yuggera Country.
